Last night at the gala ceremony for the sixth Grands Prix du génie-conseil québécois 2008, Quebec’s major consulting-engineering awards, Dessau won three awards (Léonards). The ceremony took place at the Montreal Science Centre.

Metro fixed equipment and systems modernization, Montreal Urban Community Transit Corporation (Phase I)

The purpose of this program is to replace and modernize the MUCTC's initial network's equipment and systems; including: motorized installations (escalators, pumps, vents, etc.); railroad related equipment, operational power, control centre, train operating control system, telecommunications and ticket control systems.

The project office is comprised of resources from both the MUCTC and Dessau; its objective was to develop an overall vision so as to strategically plan the various tasks to be performed and then to proceed with the execution phase. 

The project team needs to always anticipate future needs, study, develop and realize the various modernization activities, while integrating optimized systems allowing efficiency, reliability of the various systems and equipment, while ensuring a safe environment and efficient communications to MUCTC clients.

  • Project realized in EPCM mode (Engineering-Procurement-Construction-Management)

  • Preparation of Project Plan 2000-2010

  • Project plan, organization, follow-up and control

  • Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and equipment evaluation reports

  • Procurement and construction cost estimates and control

  • Call for tender documentation, supplier selection and contract negotiation processes
