Last night at the gala ceremony for the sixth Grands Prix du génie-conseil québécois 2008, Quebec’s major consulting-engineering awards, Dessau won three awards (Léonards). The ceremony took place at the Montreal Science Centre.

International and Transborder jetties, Dorval, ADM

Major expansion of the terminal to meet needs identified for the 2000–2020 period.

Work includes the south jetty (American flights), expansion of the central core of the current terminal and the north jetty (international flights).

Services provided

  • Quality control of the waterproofing work on the service tunnel (500 metres in length) and foundations

  • Quality control of work and materials : driving almost 1,800 piles, and pouring backfill and concrete (40,000 m3)

  • Roof work supervision

  • Inspection of tightening of bolts, welded joints and steelwork paint

  • Inspection of fireproofing materials

  • Inspection of storage conditions (temperature and humidity) for fragile items.


Project specifications 

To complete this project, an independent, automated laboratory was set up on the work site and staffed by a team of technicians.
