Supervision of the 138 kV Carhuaquero–Jaen line, Substations and Telecommunication Systems - Peru

Supervision of the construction and of tests carried on the 138 kV transmission line between Carhuaquero and Jaen, as well as on substations and telecommunication systems in Peru’s department of Cajamarca.

Electrical installations included in the project:

• Expansion of the 220/138 kV substation in Carhuaquero, replacement of the 220/60/22.9 kV power transformer with a 220/138/22.9 kV power transformer, originating cell of the 138 kV line, 138 kV portal system, and upgrade of monitoring, control and operating panels;
• 154.5 km transmission line between Carhuaquero and Jaen, AAAC 240 mm2 conductor with lattice-type towers;
• Expansion of the 138/60 kV substation in Jaen, terminating cell of the 138 kV line, power transformer de 138/60 kV – 20 MVA, conversion cell, 60 kV cell, gantries and 60 kV bus bar, monitoring, control and operating panels, isolated systems and measuring;
• Telecommunication systems: carrier, remote protection, telephony and UHF/VHF radio system.

Services provided (since January 2007)

Consulting services:

• Supervision, review and approval of the final engineering and detailed engineering of the transmission line, substations and telecommunication systems;
• Supervision of procurement of transmission line and substation equipment: trellis-type metal structures, power transformers, circuit breakers, isolating switches, lightning arrestors, instrument transformers, conductors, insulators and accessories;
• Supervision of civil engineering work, electro-mechanic assembly, tests and commissioning of installations;
• Finalization of project execution.
