Last night at the gala ceremony for the sixth Grands Prix du génie-conseil québécois 2008, Quebec’s major consulting-engineering awards, Dessau won three awards (Léonards). The ceremony took place at the Montreal Science Centre.

Honore Mercier Hospital Rehabilitation

Major decontamination and rehabilitation work of Honoré-Mercier hospital (120M$). The work was carried out in two (2) phases:

Phase I (preparatory work before decontamination)

Expansion of  86 000 sq. ft. to be used for the following services:

  • Intensive care unit
  • Operating area
  • Medical imaging
  • Nuclear medicine
  • Laboratory
  • Drugstore
  • Sterilization

Temporary installation on a 60 000 sq. ft. area of portables to allow for relocation of the following services during decontamination process:

  • Emergency
  • Oncology
  • Outpatient clinic
  • Food services

Temporary layout of 134 000 sq. ft. in the St-Charles' pavilion for the relocation of 300 short-stay beds during decontamination process.

Phase II (decontamination and rehabilitation of Honoré-Mercier pavilion)

  • Major rehabilitation work in the Honoré-Mercier pavilion requiring complete relocation of all hospital services, including relocation of 300 short-stay beds.

  • Reconstruction of building envelop and main mechanical systems.  

Services provided

Complete electricomechanical engineering services (phase I and II) and civil engineering and structure (phase II) completed entirely by Dessau including :  

  • Preparatory studies

  • Design

  • Preliminary and final plans and specifications

  • Work supervision
